  • Pregnancy + Lash Lift

Pregnancy + breastfeeding has a lot to answer for in the form of hormones. Prostaglandin and Oxytocin increase and decrease from one woman to another, which can effect the treatment result, lift and longevity.

As expectant/ breastfeeding mothers are unable to take antihistamines, we always advise a fresh patch test is performed and waiting until the 2nd trimester for the service, as there is some caution to be taken.

  • Adhesive Allergies?

Most reactions to lash extensions adhesives is caused by contact with the skin and through a build-up of exposure to Cyanoacrylate (the ingredient found in all lash extensions adhesives). Elleebana’s Lash Lifting products and adhesives don’t contain cyanoacrylate so the chance of a reaction to lash lifting will be slim however a patch test is the best way to determine if a client might have sensitivities.

A lash lift patch test includes all 3 products, the adhesive, the lift solution and setting solution. A reaction to any of these would result in not lash lift taking place.

Patch tests are required a minimum of 72 hours prior to treatment and after a break of 6 months or more or during pregnancy. Book yours here

  • Can I Wear Mascara?

Absolutely! You can choose to wear Elleevate Mascara immediately after your lash lift (and remove at the evening using Belma Remove make-up remover) or wait till after the first 24 hours then apply regular mascara. Remember that mascaras need to be replaced every 3 months to avoid bacteria growth and infections in your lashes/eyes.

  • Re-booking

Rule of thumb is usually 6 weeks between appointments, however your lash growth cycle must be taken into account. If your therapist has noticed, small baby hairs growing through during your appointment, they might suggest a shorter return appointment of 4 weeks.

If your lash regeneration is slow or you have a lots of lashes it you might require a longer space of 8-10 weeks between your appointments. For this, we recommend a lash tint top up in-between to revitalise your lashes.
